There are some of us who love to clean and others who, well… don’t.
So, we’re sharing our basic cleaning tips to help make cleaning the house more enjoyable for everyone. Let’s jump right into it!
Split Up the Duties
The most obvious way to make cleaning the house more enjoyable is to divvy up the duties between family members or housemates. Pick a day each week where everyone agrees to pitch in and do their chores, making an event of it.
It’s also smart to try and assign chores based on either enjoyment level or personal strengths. For example, your husband might not mind doing the yard work but hates doing the washing. Whereas you might love hanging and folding washing but can’t stand doing the dishes.
Of course, there are some chores like cleaning the toilet or taking out the rubbish that no one particularly enjoys. But, do your best to organize the chores evenly and by level of enjoyment, if you can.
Regardless, by everyone getting together every week, turning on some music and cleaning the house, it’s one of those basic cleaning tips that often becomes a cherished ritual and can make the process that much more enjoyable.
Invest in Better Tools
We mentioned that cleaning the toilet or taking out the rubbish can be rather dreadful in everyone’s opinion. But, there are ways to make these unfortunate chores a bit more fun.
All you need to do is invest in better tools.
Our Flexi Toilet Brush makes cleaning the toilet so much better (and far less gross than when you use a traditional toilet brush). Other products like the Tuff Brush make cleaning tile grout easy too. You won’t even break a sweat.
Forget scrubbing the floors like Cinderella. Instead, invest in quality cleaning tools to make cleaning your house quicker, easier and much less of a fuss.
Get the Blood Pumping
When you think of getting our blood pumping, you probably envision yourself at the gym or doing a boxing class.
But, cleaning the house is also a wonderful way to get those 'feel good' hormones pumping.
Vacuuming, scrubbing the shower, and hanging up the washing can all be a form of exercise in and of themselves.
And before you start groaning and complaining, remember, movement is a good thing. It means your endorphins (those hormones we mentioned earlier) are pumping, making you feel amazing and full of energy after a day of chores.
Ok, maybe not full of energy. But you’re caring for your body when you clean the house which can't be bad.
If you’re more of the all-around active type, you might push the boundaries even further.
Add squats while folding your clothes or take a lap around the block in-between each chore. You might even turn it into a game to see how fast you can complete every item on your list.
The point is, cleaning is bound to boost your endorphins as you get the blood pumping and your body moving.
All in all, cleaning the house doesn’t have to be a slog. In fact, it can be an enjoyable way to spend the weekend if you try out these basic cleaning tips by getting others involved, investing in better cleaning tools and getting your body moving.
